The original N-Gage saw the release of System Rush, It got fantastic reviews and good feed back, when the N93 came out, we got a taste of Next Gen of the System Rush Evolution Demo using Hardware Accelerated graphics we was blown away – and now the final release which isn’t using the 3D chip, and is completely different is still 1 fantastic game. My first impressions were wow, this looks amazing – It wasn’t using the 3D chip which is kind off frustrating but even without it, it had that appeal to it.
Once again like most other N-Gage Games, The menu is nice visually and very easy to navigate through and you will notice the game is in landscape – You can change this but trust me, Landscape is better.
So for the menu we have “Story mode” which offers a story of hacking different nets which all are 3 Part story lines, next we have N-Gage arena, and this is one game I love for arena – You will understand soon enough, and then it’s the usual Options menu, Credits etc In other words you cant get lost.
When “hacking” you are doing it in 3 Stages, The first stage is to race and make sure you don’t get destroyed, The second is to attack anything that comes at you and the third is to escape – All levels are different, deep and rich. The levels do get harder as you go along, but seeing as there isn’t many levels – The majority of the levels are medium at best.
Controls for the game are simple; it’s just the D-Pad. The original let you use other keys for different things, but now some stuff is automated which isn’t too good but that’s what we get now it’s not on a gaming device.
Graphically the game is fantastic, sure its not as pretty as the Demo offered months before on the N93 but for a mobile game not using 3D Hardware, its fantastic – The level of detail used, the colours are vivid and the little bits of detail you wouldn’t notice but are there are really effective too. I think though, were hoping for a Hardware version of this game in the near future or at least a sequel using the 3D Chip.
The sounds of System rush are great, they do get a little repetitive but there still original and clear. The sound effects are also very well done.
Now this part you will love, The N-Gage Arena part. This is the only game at the moment that offers head to head Real Time Multiplayer, you can do any of the levels that’s on the game and all the modes too. Its fantastic. You can either click ranked games which is what determines your ranking on the Rankings page, but your always against someone random – Or you can Filtered play which lets you set up game rooms or join someone else’s to play, this doesn’t affect your rankings – and to be honest it works, Its fantastic I’ve played countless games online Ranked and filtered and I love it.
Overall System Rush is a fantastic fun enjoyable game and you wouldn’t regret it at all. With a fantastic Single player mode to a enjoyable multiplayer mode you can’t go wrong with this purchase.
